Lumbar epidural steroid injections are a routine therapeutic procedure provided by pain management physicians. Despite a known low morbidity, significant acute events can occur.

We report a patient who developed symptoms mimicking a stroke after an epidural injection, and provide an evaluation and assessment of this patient plus other rare complications that occur with epidural injections.
